Hello and welcome to davebabcock.com.

Like so many other musicians around the world, I’ve been sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic and been largely unable to play any shows since mid-March. This has been a difficult six-months not being able to perform but it hasn’t been all bad. There have been a few bright spots along the way.

Despite the shutdown, I did get the opportunity to go into Riverdale Recorders for album sessions with artists Sam Wolfe and Dana Wylie, which was really great. Thank you Harry Gregg. I also had the chance to be a part of the CASA Carnival Virtual Gala, raising much needed funds for the CASA Foundation. Despite the cancellation of their live gala, we were still able to pull together and create a very special online event.

With recent changes to Alberta’s opening guidelines for wind players and vocalists, there will be more performance opportunities available to me in the weeks and months to come. Please be sure to check back for details on future shows, news and updated content.

I’m currently accepting saxophone students of all ages and abilities for online lessons. If you’re interested in scheduling a lesson, please go to the Lessons section for more details, or email me at [email protected].

In the meantime, let’s flatten the curve of this pandemic and give our live performance artists the ability to safely return to the stage where we can play for audiences who are still yearning for that direct human experience. As artists, we can’t survive without an audience to perform for.

Until then, be safe and take care of one another. Thanks for stopping by!
